LIBERTY. A style for modern Italy
February 1st – June 15th, 2014
Forlì, San Domenico Museums, Piazza Guido da Montefeltro
An exhibition which aims to explore the glorious season of the Liberty .
Emilia Romagna region has been one of the most representative workshop of Art Nouveau in Italy, not simply a trend or a style, but rather a way of living. This exibithion plans to investigate the origin of the stylelistic model of the Italian liberty and to bring to light the srtict relationship and fusions with the European art movements at the time, specially the Secessions.
A common thread connects the paintings by Boldini, Previat, Segantini, Casorati Mucha, Boccioni and more over with the sculptures by Wildt or Martini, but also with glass wall, wrought irons, posters and ceramics.
MIC, International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza is partner of this exibithion and its ceramic collection represents one of the biggest successes of Italian Liberty
